What is it?

EC Students is our student group which meets weekly during term times. Our connect group meets on Wednesdays in the church coffee lounge where we work through devotional studies, ask questions of the bible and connect with one another. We also run student lunches, social events and, mission initiatives throughout the year as well as a weekend away.

What would I do?

You’ll have the opportunity of welcoming students who haven’t been to church or who are visiting EC for the first time. Team members help facilitate Connect Group sessions, i.e. Lead worship and prayer, provide basic pastoral support and attend EC-students functions, events and socials. Everyone serving on EC-students team needs to be servant hearted, pastorally aware and welcoming. Leaders of the EC-students team would be involved in the following ways:

• Developing strategy, curriculum, resources, events including our Weekend Away, Christmas, Socials etc.

• You can help people get connected to one another and form friendships

How often would I serve?

A minimum commitment of one Wednesday evening a month.

What kind of training is provided?

We train on the job. Training on student mission is provided by Fusion and others.

Is being a member at Encounter a prerequisite?

No, unless engaging in a senior role within the EC student team. However, all team members are encouraged to read our (Elim) statement of belief and adhere to them.
