What is it?

This valuable ministry of the church is much more than childcare. We have opportunity to explain, explore and help children between the ages of 3-10 discover something of the life, purpose and relationship they can have with God in Christ. As a team we can impact our growing church and equip the children in having fun, making friends and learning to live in the fulness of Christ – which includes making a difference for others, both now and in the future.

Encounter Kids gather mainly on Sunday mornings during the second part of the service. Throughout the year there are also special events, such as at Christmas, Easter and during summer.

What would I do?

You will help to deliver lead a group, engage in Bible storytelling, join in with crafts, games, interactive songs – maybe even puppetry, and lots more.

How often would I serve?

We ask EKs team members to be available on Sunday mornings once or twice/month. We are keen that children and kids team members can be part of the main service on Sundays. We do organise occasional special events in addition to Sundays throughout the year, which we invite team members to help with as and when they can.

What kind of training is provided?

Safeguarding training and session on delivering the programme is provided. There are also occasional inter church training days put on by Elim for our kids team members to attend together.

Is being in membership at EC a pre-requisite? 

Being a member really communicates your commitment to EC but not required initially. However, it would be usual for a team member to attend EC regularly for 3 months before joining the EC Kids Team.
