What is it?

The Worship Team leads and facilitates our worship for Sunday services and monthly prayer meetings. The team may be asked to serve additionally from time to time at worship nights, conferences, weddings, funerals and various seasonal events.

What would I do?

You would join the Worship Team as a vocalist, instrumentalist or both! As well as having musical ability, it's essential that team members have a genuine and authentic relationship with God and are committed to growing in their faith and spiritual maturity. It's expected that the worship they would bring in serving on Worship Team would be the overflow of a healthy and worshipful devotional life and engage regularly within the fellowship of the church.

If you are very new to the church, we may ask that you take a few months to settle in and build community before joining team, but it's never too early to register your interest and let us know you'd like to get involved!

How often would I serve?

1-2 times per month, depending on role, both at Band rehearsals and the Sunday services.

What kind of training is provided?

There will be an audition, induction and on-the-job training is given for the role. Once or twice a year the worship team may go to worship leading conference days.

Is being a member at Encounter a prerequisite?

We do encourage worship team members to look to enter membership of EC as soon as the opportunity arises – unless they will only be the church short term.
